The Poor Man's Air Conditioner

Picture
Seth and I built two of these.  Basically you need a small fan, a five gallon bucket with a lit and a dremel tool.  You cut a hole in the lid that you can place the small fan face down into.  The you cut a small hole in the side.  You can drop a bag or block of ice into the bucket which cools the air that escapes out of the hole in the side.  A pvc pipe can be added to the side hole but is not necessary.

Two of these brought the temperature down in the room about 12 to 15 degrees.

Bucket - $5
Ice - $2.50
Fan - $12
Dremel tool -  $50
